Wei2
Intro
This is the first graphic design truly design for myself. And I am proud to use as my portfolio and brand logo for the years to come.

About
However, at first I was having difficulty to design what I want for myself until I find myself deep in design videos and books about branding – I was lost to the beautiful details of graphic design.
After a couple of tries of varies combination, I resorted to minimalist design. I am always fond of simple elegance in black and white. The logo comprises two same Chinese characters overlapped in a streak formation.
Thus, by putting considerations into the design such as presentations in all kinds of medium, my multicultural background, and my Chinese name – WeiHung Lee.
Background
This logo is the depict formation of the Chinese character “Wei”, which is part of my first name. I wanted something close to myself and meaningful to my family. Lee’s pedigree was one of the things I find quite intriguing during my childhood. I would hear so many stories from distant histories about my ancestors that I always ended up revisiting the “poem of first names”

In the poem, my generation all have “Wei” in our first name with variations in the second Chinese character to distinguish one another. To me, I assume this is how I will start to pay tribute to my family legacy.
